Marketing 101-17
In my upcoming book, “7 Principles of Forgiveness that transform your life”; which is planned to be released early next year, I mentioned that in the work field, many organizations are heading the direction of R.R.R which stands for Resistance which leads to Resentment and then Revenge. It is sad but true that many top managers are more interested solely in the end results rather than overall achievement that include the end results but transcend into the welfare for all. For example, in the education field, the pressure to meet the quota set by various stakeholders to achieve certain barometer set has not only degrade and affect the quality of the education per se but also triggered an unhealthy preceding for the industry itself. That will put the lecturers and tutors in a dilemma, choosing between adhering to the university standard or as per principles- driven. Thus, the unhealthy organization culture will spread to the entire industry. While that is being so, there is another direction of some organizations which takes the path of C.C.C which stands for Clarity, leading to Cooperation and then Commitment. It has the ingredients of a success recipe of a successful organization. Maybe Grab is one of them, allowing a culture of innovation, self-development and even self-actualization. Another notable origination is Hewlett Packet. A healthy organization culture will provides a great platform for teamwork, eliminates rivalry, a forgiving management team which will propel any organization forward. Christopher Hegarty, a notable Fortune 500 companies management consultant and author of “How to manage your boss” summed it well in this book where the secrets of effective communication are revealed. Besides learning the finer arts of communication, the book outlines proven strategies to dramatically improve our working life. With so many distractions, conflicts and misunderstanding that might be arising due to stakeholder’s expectation, some Guru advices us to take thing not too seriously, work hard but do not forget to play and rest. There is no such thing as we know all, the more we know, the more we find that we do not know. Some organizations emphasize too much on performance-based, until many workers have to slog hours until the wee hours just to complete certain assignments. Is that it? All work but no rest. That will defeat the purpose of life. Although work constituted about one third of our life, we must not neglect the other aspect of life like family, health and our society as a whole. Yes, we need to know when to let go and when to go on. If life hand you a lemon, make it lemonade. As the saying goes… If you encounter resistance, remember this, forgive what your “enemy” has done to you; it is more harmful to think on how to get even with your enemy than just to forgive him. In his bestselling book, “How to stop worry and start living”, prolific author Dale Carnegie advices us to close the iron door of yesterday and to live for today. Yes, does not worry about tomorrow, for a large percentage of what we worry about usually never happen …
